I suppose it has more to do with semantics that beliefs as I tend to agree in principle with what you present. However, what I have been discovering over the years is that sin is not so much a legal problem we have with God but is rather the issue of distrust which leads to all the malfunctions we call sin. And this penchant to distrust God does come from our heritage as passed on to us from our first parents who infected the entire human race with hard-wired tendencies of selfishness. I don't believe too many people believe that humans are not born selfish which would not have been the case had not our first parents chosen to distrust God and embrace the counterfeit system of life.
Having said all that however, I agree with you that the condemnation associated with sin as perceived in a legal sense by most people is a false assumption. We are not guilty of our parent's sins and are not punished for them. However we cannot escape the ill effects of our ancestors bad choices which results in all sorts of handicaps and mental and spiritual limitations we cannot deny. It is in this sense that I believe our first parents originated sin within humanity, not guilt imposed on us all but infection that none can escape except by believing the truth about God that Jesus brought to us. Only embracing the truth about God as revealed in Jesus can we escape the distrust and selfishness inherent in being born as a fallen human being in this world. But salvation is the gift of deliverance and healing for all the damage that sin has done to our minds and hearts making us afraid of the very One who loves us unconditionally, forgives us unconditionally and longs to restore us into harmony with His character of passionate, selfless love.Clay Feethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15811502760379647181noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27339816.post-18321130906498548032015-06-27T08:10:10.100-05:002015-06-27T08:10:10.100-05:00ORIGINAL SIN ROMANS 5:19 BY STEVE FINNELL

Will men spend eternity in hell because Adam sinned? No, they will not.

Original advocates present Romans 5:19 as a proof-text for original sin.

Romans 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man's obedience many will be made righteous.(NKJV)

The theory is that because Adam was disobedient in the Garden of Eden, then all men are guilty of sin at birth. Men are guilty of sin because they sin, not because Adam sinned.

Are all men made righteous because of the obedience of Jesus? No, they are not. Men become righteous only if they are obedient to the gospel plan of salvation.

All men are not sinners because Adam sinned.
All men are not righteous because Jesus did not sin.

Romans 3:23 for have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (NKJV)

All men become sinners because all men sin.

1 John 3:4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.(NKJV)

All who commit sin are sinners. Being born is not committing sin. Being born is not a lawless act.

James 1:14-15 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. (NKJV)

Temptation comes before sin. Babies in the womb are not tempted. Infants do give into the desires of fornication, drunkenness, theft, murder etc. Only those who know good from evil are capable of sin.

Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned---(NKJV) [BECAUSE ALL SINNED]

Adam introduce sin into the world. All men will die physically because of Adam' sin. Men will suffer spiritual death, because they themselves sinned.

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgement of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.(NKJV)

Men will be judged according to things they have done. Men are not going to be judged by what Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden.

The only way to escape the punishment of sin is forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

ORIGINAL SIN IS NOT FOUND IN THE BIBLE, IT IS A MAN-MADE DOCTRINE.

YOU ARE INVITED TO FOLLOW MY BLOG. http://steve-finnell.blogspot.com

Posted by Steve Finnell at 12:27 PM No comments:
Email This
BlogThis!
Links to this post
Steve Finnellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12863026367048527526noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27339816.post-60079171979049728532011-07-17T15:31:10.357-05:002011-07-17T15:31:10.357-05:00Never boring! Freedom for Floyd, Lord. It will be so ...Freedom! Freedom for Floyd, Lord. It will be so good. You are so good, Lord. It's good to be able to say - "That's okay." and keep walking and watch fear and distress fall away because we know in our hearts that You are reliable and will never leave us.

And when You're passing out freedom and grace, don't forget me, Jesus. I know You won't.

Floyd - we're working through a possible change of job for me to work in the inner city of Chicago - old feelings surface, old reasons that this is good or that is bad, old stacks of reasons seem to hang together like rags soaked with adhesive or old paint. But He will do something new in all of this. I will not be afraid as I walk this road. Or rather, I will be afraid, but He will calm my fears and lead me further. Why does it take a long time to get here? Why do we have to go through things that feel like they're going to destroy us, kill us for sure? I'm glad those things are behind me - but perhaps they are still all around me and I just see them differently because of faith and grace. I wish there were some other words for faith and grace - I like "reliable" and "trustworthy" for why I believe. I like being "glad" and "thankful" for the good things He brings/gives.

I'm rambling and have to get back to work. Thank You, Father, for watching over us.

Josh.Joshua Underhillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01920154293702001110noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27339816.post-12476406347041248602009-07-28T21:03:08.184-05:002009-07-28T21:03:08.184-05:00Thanks for taking time to photograph the new flowe...Thanks for taking time to photograph the new flowers for us. But, every time I walked in that office, Tricia was glad to see me. I mean genuinely glad. She told me various times that when she looked at her schedule, I was one of those that she looked forward to seeing.

What a difference that made to me. I guess I didn't realize the blessing of that before. She stayed with me through everything, she helped me learn how to start grieving things. She just experienced my emotions with me, and still was glad to see me... truly glad to see me. And you are right, as my "joy strength" increased, so did my capacity to face the more fear filled circumstances I had lived through. No wonder some of the hardest ones were the ones I processed at the end of our time together! It makes more sense to me now.

thank you so much for sharing this. I really appreciate it more than you know! I've always read that we should 'avoid'those type of people and only be around those who would be positive and encourage us. I wonder if, for some, we need to surround ourselves with 'joy people', but on the other hand, you must be right when you say that our joy comes from bringing joy to others. I guess if we keep company with only the positively joy people, there would be nothing for us to do?

Thanks for your posting,
~Linda

PS We came close to your place on our trip to Carver Creek, but were on a 2-day mission for that journey.
